6 months of ongoing harassment - King of Prussia, PA
They contacted me regarding magazines and a free gift. I was at work so I said yes to shut them up and get them off my phone. I attempted numerous times to cancel but they mysteriously have no record of me calling within the 3 DAY cancellation time. 3 DAYS! Are you *** joking me!? They called me 5 or 6 times a day for the first few months. Now they call at least once a day in an attempt to collect money from me which I am not going to send them. I have never received any product from them and I refuse to send them money, knowing full well its a scam. I do intend to have my lawyer send them a love note regarding their constant harassment.
Reason of review:
SCAM
Preferred solution: To leave me alone. Stop the calls. Cancel all service as requested. Leave me absolutely alone.

Getting magazines I never ordered !
Ive been getting magazines that I never ordered. They call me and tell me there billing my credit card which I haven't had in 2 years. So they told me there billing someone's credit card and I was getting magazines for free. I told them to cancel all magazines that were coming to my house' now I'm getting 10 different ones. They told me then we will send it to a collection agency to pay for them. I've spoke to them at least 15 different times and told them to cancel! I feel bad for the person's credit card there using! There a bunch of ***'s who listen to anything I have to say!I don't know how many times they told me they were going to send me a letter to sign to cancel them. I never received one.

LIERS AND FULL OF BS
about a year and a half ago periodical magazines called me out the blue and said that I could get a free trail subscription for magazines. I gave them my bank card number and with the free trial the also said i would receive a watch which never came. So about three days in i decided i wanted to stop the trail i didn't want the magazines nor did i need them. i called and cancelled and then about two weeks later i started receiving magazines. after that i took matters into my own hands i went to the bank and had that account closed. After about 6 months they started calling my phone saying that i owed them money and that they were sending me to a collection agency and the still continue to call i've changed my numbers multiple times and some how they continue to get them so finally today i told them to stop calling my phone and they weren't getting a dime from me. WHAT EVER YOU DO IF THESE PEOPLE CALL YOU HANG UP IMMEDIETLY OR THEY WILL SCAM YOU INTO GETTING MAGAZINES THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY NEVER SEE OR A FREE TRAIL THAT ISN'T FREE AT ALL THEY ARE *** ARTIST LOOKING TO DECIEVE YOU.

Fraudulent Charges
Several years ago (approx. 2010) I was suckered into agreeing to a month's subscription by a persistent sales rep who called me at work. Misunderstanding the terms and origin of this call, I gave them my debit card information. After realizing this call to my place of work, a Children's Hospital, had nothing whatever to link it to a charitable donation, and adding the carefully hidden costs of the subscriptions in question, I took immediate steps to cancel the transaction. This involved multiple steps, including deciphering intentionally misleading directions, with a written request to cancel, sentby registered mail to 3 addresses within 48 hours of receipt of their confirmation. I was able to successfully cancel, and received a letter from Active Periodicals confirming the subsciption cancellation. A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a sales rep stating that my "magazine account was past due". I responded that I did not have a magazine account. She said "you mean you don't have any magazines?" I responded that I had no "magazine account" that was past due. She muttered something like "This is a mistake". and hung up. This morning 5/17/2013 I saw $140.00 charge posted to my checking account from "Magazines". I called the 800 number and stated that an unauthorized charge appeared on my account linked to this number. After holding briefly, the rep said "yes, you're in our system". I responded that no order had been placed, and no charges authorized for this amount with any company involving magazines. She said she would have to check. I asked the name of the company and was told "Active Periodicals", so knew immediately who/what I was dealing with. I informed her that any account that had existed in the past had been cancelled. The charges posted were unauthorized and therefore fraudulent. I asked why they had been made. Her response again was that "well, you're in our system." She started to talk about "looking into this", and I told her that I wanted the charges removed immediately. She persisted in wanting to "explain." "If you'll let me talk...", she said. I responded that there was no legitimate explanation for posting unauthorized charges on a cancelled account and that they were a criminal organization. She hung up on me. I've filed several complaints, and will file a police report. I'd happily travel to Florida from Los Angeles to assist in prosecuting this predatory and unethical group of opportunistic criminals.

Active Periodicals & Your Source Magazine
I scammed from this company - not sure which one it is. I have been dealing with this company for almost three years with them getting more and more rude and threatening each time. I canceled this magazine order and never received a magazine from them. After I cancelled I was charged - I called my credit card company and this charge was reversed. After the company contacted me again I explained to them that I was not a customer, never received a magazine from them and did not want any magazine(s) from them. It was suppose to be taken care of only to have them call back in couple of months. Again I explained the situation over and over again. I was called a liar, told my neighbors were ripping off the magazines when I was at work, etc. Again after several minutes on the phone, speaking to a supervisor again was told that I was getting the magazines. I thought it was taking care of only to have them call again and again. Today was the worst call yet. They wanted me to settle on a price. When I explained (I was rude this time) he threatened to turn me over to collections, call the credit bureau and make sure that I would have a collection on my credit score. He indicated that he knew I had a good credit score and he was sure that I wouldn't want that score affected. Again I asked for written proof that I owe this money. He then indicated that I was being difficult and my file says I am difficult to deal with. I just want this company out of my life. I don't owe them a dime, but I am afraid of the damage they can do to me.

Periodicals
Called my wife who just came to US for first time, a fast talking sales rep suckered her in this magazine deal thinking one month charge to credit card only. Now they don't listen. Stay away from this fraudulent company. I have attempted several phone calls and spent hours but they are threatening with legal action if payments are stopped. I have since contacted my credit card company for help. They also recognize them as having many more customers with similar fraudulent deals. Be aware Periodicals in Hamilton, Montana as a fraud. I will contact attorney for advise and also local news media for help. I will also contact local Hamilton, MT. state rep to call on this company.

Active periodical magazine
this was a magazine scam! the call came in as active periodical magazine services and there was a intro offer to try magazines for a limited time. If at the end of the trial period they would bill me. the trial period was not over and I did not recieve one magazine under the trial period, in march 2012 I saw on my bank statement two chargers for $35.11 and $50.00 I called the original phone number of 1-80*-533-****. This was now what I think was an adult talk line! going online and putting in the quarry of active periodicals magazine service ,I called and spoke with a represenative of the company yms formerly apm services. They said that I had spoken to a sales represenative and that upon explaining the question and asking that my money be refunded from my bank account that it be returned. A new charge for $50.00 appeared as a cancelation fee for the magazines I never recieved There are two offices that I found the other is in deerfield beach florida. same company under a" new banner" what should I do? or who should I talk to, to get my money back, and a would hope too stop this thing from happening to others.

Active Periodicals - Fraudulaunt terms on telephone
They called me about 6 months ago and said that I could receive top named magazines at a fraction of the price. The specific terms relayed to me on the phone was 16 months worth of payments @***.95 a month, billed quarterly. I told the guy that it was too much and he explained that it only equated to 5 payments of $39.95 which broke out to be $9.99 a month for alot of magazines (dont remember exact quantity). Plus I would receive a $1000 shopping card for paying with a VISA card. When I received the paper work in the mail, the terms said 16 monthly payments of $49.95 a month. Which odviously I would have never agreed with. So I never signed and returned the paper. It only took them a few minutes after I gave them my card information to bill the account, so I was charged the first fee. Because they had my account number, I changed accounts so it would not be charged again. I pressed charges against the company with my bank and chalked the payment up to my own stupidity - promising myself that I would never listen to people on the phone again. Well now I am receiving calls that threaten to submit my account to collects for over $800.00. Is that even legal?

Threatened to being taken to court
I have tried to cancel my thing with active periodicals and they told me that I can't cancel my account. So I took matters into my own hands and changed my credit card number that they were charging on. Now they claim that I owe over $800 and even contacted some lawyers office and threatened to take it to small claims court if I don't pay the fees. Now this lawyers office has a credit card number and I'm thinking of canceling it too. Has anyone else had an issue similar to this in where they threatened taking you to court? My account is closed now with them at least but please someone please tell me what they did in this type of situation.

Post here please I agree one of the billing ladies called me today with the worst attitude ever. I'm in the hospital due to a horrible asthma attack from which I almost diedand I told her that Ima in the hospital and really don't have the time to deal with a company that is fraudulent....
she told if I was in the hospital on my death bed I wouldn't have answered and then she hung up!
So I call back and result with same rude lady from30-45 minutes because she wouldn't listen to any I had today I talked over me ... the of course she accused me of being the one who's talking over her
